C-47 “That’s All, Brother”
CAF Central Texas Wing
The C-47 “That’s All, Brother” was built in March 1944 and less than three months later, it led the airborne units in the largest coordinated land, air and sea mission in history – the Battle of Normandy. After this battle, it was brought back stateside and sold for civilian use. It later ended up in a boneyard in Wisconsin before the CAF discovered it in 2015.
In 2018, after a full restoration, “That’s All, Brother” returned to the skies. Since then it has returned to Normandy twice, once in 2019 for the 75th anniversary and last year for the 80th anniversary.
